Huge congratulations to Vincent Kearns from Dunboyne, Co. Meath on passing his practical driving test in Navan on June 3rd.
Myself & Vin go back a long way.
My Mam used to mind him when were growing up & our parents were also great friends.
Needless to say, we spent a lot of time together over the years.
I was delighted when way back in 2011, now an adult & with a young family of his own that Vin approached me regarding Essential Driver Training (EDT)
Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.
As a student driver Vin was always very thorough, he always only strived for 100%.
I must admit though, when he contacted me after 4 years of driving without tuition. I did expect that I would have my work cut out for me.
To my absolute surprise, Vin had very few bad habits & was still quoting things that I had taught him 4 years prior.
His biggest problem was adjusting from driving his petrol car to driving my diesel one, but who wouldn’t?
After only 4 pre test lessons (And several LOL’s) over a 3 week period, I’m delighted to announce that Vin passed his test without a moments hesitation, only a few minor faults & on his first attempt too.
It just goes to show that if you instill the right driving techniques from the very beginning.
You definitely can create a Safe Driver For Life!
This is what makes my job as an ADI so enjoyable & worthwhile.
