Wow! What a crazy few weeks it’s been since my last ‘blog post’. It’s often hard to find the time during my hectic working day to set aside time for blogging. For this reason, I always try to make each blog count.

It has been a very successful few weeks overall & although a hand full of students didn’t manage to obtain that much coveted ‘Full Licence’ just yet, they are happy in the knowledge that they are on the right track.

For those of you that were successful. . . . Congrats again, but I wonder?

Are you still happy with your picture? Now that it’s gone viral. . . . ;-P

Well done to. . . .

Mary France Thornton, Dunboyne, Co. Meath for passing 04/02/16 in Navan, having only completed 1 hours tuition on the morning of her test. Great result! Well done again Mary Frances.

Spring Successes. . .

Sean Mc Hugh, Ashbourne, Co. Meath.

Sean McHugh, Ashbourne, Co. Meath for passing 02/03/16 in Finglas. Sean had a test postponed in early Jan 2016 due to harsh weather conditions. He made the most of this opportunity & used it to hone his driving skills. As a result he passed with only a few minor faults. On his first attempt too.

Well done again Sean.

Emma Costigan, Ratoath, Co. Meath passed 08/03/16 in Finglas. Emma had postponed her test herself once before & once just after Xmas due to college commitments. Although she had been scheduled twice in the past this was still her first, actual attempt & she nailed it!

Well done again Emma.

Emily Sheedy, Ashbourne, Co. Meath passed 11/03/16 in Navan. Myself & Emily had been taking pre test lessons, on & off in Ashbourne & Navan for about 2 years. For a long time, against her father’s, boyfriend’s & my own advice she had refused to book her full test. This year her father a plan though. . . He met up with me in Dec, just before Xmas. He purchased a gift voucher for 4 hours tuition & surprised with it Xmas morning. That was Emily told! This time she listened. So, Emily was finally geared up to sit the test in January & low & behold, it snowed that morn. Test Cancelled! Needless to say, we were both gutted. All was not lost though & one week later she passed. Also on her first attempt.

Well done again Emily.

Matthew Smyth, Swords, Co. Dublin.

Matthew Smyth, Swords, Co. Dublin passed 15/03/16 in Finglas. Matthew completed 12 hours Essential Driver Training & a handful of pre test lessons, in & around the Finglas test area. Matthew didn’t have his own car which made practice between lessons virtually impossible. Although he wasn’t successful on his first attempt, he recently got his own car, he also learned from his previous mistakes, applied them to his most recent test, kept a cool head & nailed it!

Well done again Matt. Great result!

Spring Successes. . .

Nicola Murray, Ashbourne, Co. Meath.

Nicola Murray, Ashbourne, Co. Meath passed 23/03/16 in Finglas. When I first met Nicola she was quite nervous & very unsure of herself when it came to driving. It wasn’t long until I realised that it wasn’t all her own fault & it was down to bad prior tuition & no real actual on the road experience. Myself, Nicola & her sponsor all put in a lot of work in the run up to the test & now she has a full licence to show for it.

Congrats again Nicola. Job well done!

Spring Successes. . .

Sarah Giles, Ashbourne, Co. Meath.

Sarah Giles, Ashbourne, Co. Meath passed 29/03/16 in Finglas. I can honestly say that Sarah was one of the most tuned in students that I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. Myself & Sarah did 12 hours Essential Driver Training & 4 pre test lessons. Sarah also did a lot of practice in her own time. Every time that we met up Sarah had more new study notes drawn up, mostly stuff that we had covered on our previous lesson & that’s what made the difference. From the very beginning Sarah realised that I could only give her the tools to become a safe, competent driver. It was always going to be up to her to put the work in, & she did! The great thing was that Sarah was so confident about sitting the driving test that she never even told me when it was. She didn’t want the added pressure & I understood. Needless to say, On the day of the exam I was delighted to get a call from her to say that she had passed. Those kind of calls are always welcome surprises. Congrats again Sarah. You deserve every single bit of your recent success.

Safe driving,

Keith.

Spring Successes. . .

Beth Hayes, Curragha, Co. Meath.

Beth Hayes, Curragha, Co. Meath passed 29/03/16 in Finglas. Myself & Beth’s family go way back. I had thought both her older brother & sister how to drive from scratch & now her parents entrusted in me to teach their youngest daughter the fundamentals of being a safe driver. At times Beth would compare her learning to drive experience to her siblings experiences & often wondered how she was picking up certain aspects of driving quicker, or other aspects more slowly. I explained that learning to drive is a life skill, just like walking, talking, reading, writing & doesn’t happen over night. It’s also very subjective & no one person learns at the same rate, sibling, or not. This made Beth understand the process more, which in turn put her more at ease. Beth’s excellent result was without a doubt a combination, of hard work, determination & hours of practice for herself, myself & her Mam & Dad. It has paid off now though.

Congrats again Beth & thank you guys for all your custom & endless referrals & for helping Motorvate Driving School get to where it is now. It’s greatly appreciated.

Keith.
